“Only a few weeks ago Cassey Carrington and Matt Topham won £45 million and last month Gareth and Catherine Bull won £40 million, so the UK is clearly enjoying a run of amazing luck,” she said.

According to the spokeswoman, over 2800 people have become millionaires since The National Lottery began, and to date, £27 billion has been raised for National Lottery Good Causes.

On 20th January, Gareth and Catherine Bull from Nottinghamshire won £40,627,241, while Cassey Carrington and Matt Topham won £45,160,170.50 with a lucky dip ticket on the 7th of February.

At the time of this writing, it remains unknown if the winner will want to stay anonymous. As is the case with every EuroMillions lottery, one UK lottery player won a million with the number BFM800968 as part of the Millionaire Raffle.

In addition to the £46 million win, there were several smaller wins, and eight players won £166,823 each as the second-tier prize when they matched five mains and one Lucky Star.

Sixteen tickets matched five main numbers and won £27,804 each, and fifty-eight players won £3,835 each as the fourth-tier prize.

The Euro Millions Lottery jackpot has been reset to £12 million and is the last draw for February.
