The winner of last week’s EuroMillions lottery has come forward to claim their prize, according to the National Lottery. The lucky winner who scooped £84.4 million is now UK’s biggest ever lottery winner and completely overshadows the previous record holder who had won a mere £56 million.

A spokesman for Camelot has said that the owner of the winning ticket has contacted them and they are in the process of verifying the claim. However, it is not known if the winner will choose to remain anonymous. “We are looking forward to welcoming the lucky ticketholder to our millionaires club which is already 2,400 strong. The windfall tops the nation’s recent run of luck with big EuroMillions winners,” said the spokesman. At the moment, it is not known if the winner was an individual or a syndicate.

The winning numbers of the EuroMillions lottery jackpot were 1, 17, 31, 43, 47 and lucky stars 2 and 3. According to the Sunday Time Rich List 2010, if the £84.4 million is won by an individual, it will make them the 789th richest person in the UK with a fortune larger than Sean Connery who is estimated to be worth £80 million and Rowan Atkinson who is worth £70 million.

There were many big winners with last week’s EuroMillions game. 14 players were able to match the five main numbers and one Lucky Star to win an amazing £242,957 each while 22 players matched five numbers to win £43,876 each. Additionally, 135 players matched four main numbers and both Lucky Stars to scoop a prize of £5,107 each.

The past twelve months have been very lucky for British lottery players with several big wins including Nigel Page who, up until last Friday, held the record for UK’s biggest win with £54 million. The next EuroMillions lottery is worth £12,000,000.

There seems to be a lot happening these days on the lottery to ensure that public interest is maintained. Earlier in the week we reported that UK Lottery players of the Euromillions would be subject to a one third price rise in tickets. This is essentially being done to introduce a new prize fund so that a UK millionaire can be announced each week. This weekly millionaire raffle as it is purported to be called will be sure to generate interest.

One more way that Camelot seems to be raising funds is by getting people to play for some great jackpots on its Instant games and Scratch card games. Scratch card games have become increasingly popular as the jackpots are pretty much instant and for a small purchase you can walk away with a life changing amount. We have selected a couple of providers where you are able to play these scratchcard games. For some great jackpots take a look at the eurmillionlottery.com Scratchcard games partner here.

As the headline goes the Euromillions Lottery is set to unveil a 50 pence increase in ticket prices. The beauty of this is that the price rise is only restricted to UK lottery players and not to anyone else. The theory behind this move is that the increase is going to fund an entirely new fund that is designed to create a new millionaire in the United Kingdom each week. It is supposedly a Raffle and there will be according to reports a a Super Raffle as well with prizes of up to £20million on offer. Camelot who manage both the UK Lottery and the Euromillion Lottery have indicated that they have taken this step to add a bit of excitement to the Euro Million Lottery.

Dianne Thompson the chief Executive of Camelot had the following to say “With the new Millionaire Raffle, we want to offer the best of both worlds, making EuroMillions even more exciting for players by creating a guaranteed UK millionaire every single week” We think that this is a great idea and look forward to the unveiling of a UK millionaire on a weekly basis. In Ireland they have Europlus and now we have millionaire raffle. How exciting.

The new Millionaire raffle is being backed by a £3 million advertising campaign that is sure to prick the interest and get player levels up on the Euromillion Lottery. The Lottery is already the largest lump sum tax free lottery in the world and enhancing it for UK lottery players is a great move.

Each and every single Euromillions player will automatically take part in the raffle and will be assigned 3 letters and 6 numbers and presumable these letters and numbers would then need to be drawn . The winner would then become a instant millionaire . This particular euromillions prize is only available to UK players.

Can you imagine winning €125 million on the Euro Millions and not knowing it . This is reportedly what happened to a young Spanish lady from Majorca. The EuroMillions lottery had rolled over 6 times before the lucky Spanish lass who was in bed with a bit of flu got a bit lucky and won an amount that could probably see her buy half the Island.

This huge €126 million jackpot amount is still the record win on the euromillion lottery. The next biggest amount won euromillions was won by Dolores Mcnamara who won €115 million, this win happened in July 2005 and was the biggest story in Ireland for quite some time. The Euro Millions Jackpot win made her the 72nd wealthiest person in Ireland at the time. That is some jump from living in Limerick to being part of the jet set super elite.

We all dream about winning the Lottery - it could be any Lottery really , the UK national lottery , Powerball in the United States or even El Gordo the Spanish lottery. All of these lotteries if won come with life changing amounts. The Euro Millions Lottery though is the biggest of the lot as it is paid out in a single lump sum and is tax free.

There are a number of Lottery scams around, from people informing you that your have won a fantastic amount of Money. The saying goes - if its too good to be true then - well you know how it goes . When you are informed that a Admin Fee is required to release funds you know that you are in contact with a scammer who is simply trying to get some of your hard earned funds out of you.

There are a couple of really basic questions that you need to ask of yourself to avoid being taken in by this Lottery scam and we give some guidance and advice below.  Using your common sense though is the best advice we can give to avoid being taken in by these Lottery scams.

1) Did you actually purchase a Euro Millions Lottery ticket . If not then you have absolutely not won the Euro Million lottery.   In addition the Lottery would never charge you an admin fee to release funds.

2) Check out the email address - invariably people who resort to this as a way to make a living use public email addresses .They will use email addresses that come from Yahoo or Google or Hotmail. Some have been known to spoof email addresses .That basically means they make it appear as if the email is coming from EuroMillions. The Euro Millions Lottery would never email you either.

We must advise EuroMillions Lottery. com is not the official site and operator of the EuroMillions Lottery. We provide news and results for the EuroMillions lottery and news and reviews about other gaming sites. We hope to in the near future offer live games and perhaps an area for players to purchase Euro Millions Lottery tickets.

If you have any further examples of Lottery Fraud please forward to us and we will ensure we post it so that people are aware of the lengths that people like this will go to.

Lottery scams are a fraudulent attempt to take money from people and you should report this to the relevant authorities in your area. They will probably think you are nuts if you go to that length so its probably best to just send those sort of emails straight to your spam folders. There is no purpose in even replying to these people as they will then know that this is an active email account and you will be bombarded.
