Lottery Scams

The saying is that a fool and his money are easily parted, unfortunately these days that might not be necessarily true. There are so many online predators these days ready to part you with your cash for nothing much in return. Asking for a fee or monies upfront ? Treat them with maximum caution.

These range from the phishing letters you receive from your bank telling you to update your details to strange sounding foreign people telling dazzling stories of tied up wealth. How many EBay emails have you received? Protect yourselves from Spam and protect your PC from Viruses.

The scam that is relevant to us though comes in the form of an Email or Postal Letter. It happily advises that you have won the Euro Lottery and that you know need to collect your Lotto winnings. Now this is the point where you need to ask yourself !Have I played the lottery? And if you have there might be the possibility that you have won it otherwise steer clear from that situation. It can only end in tears . Anyone purporting to be from EuroMillionLottery.com stating that they are offering a prize is trying to pull a fast one . Do not believe a word they say.

The Euro Lottery site that we run is not the site for the official euro millions lottery. Our site is an informational international lottery site that we keep up to date with the latest results and lotto news. We do provide you with a selection of our favourite current gaming venues and new games. Sign up for our feed and never miss another draw or Euro Millions result.

Like many forms of gambling, lotteries are susceptible to fraud. This is despite the high degree of scrutiny typically employed by most lotteries. A common method of scamming a lottery is to tamper with the machine that issues the numbers that determine the winning numbers. This is done by rigging a machine to spit out predictable numbers and this tends to make it fairly easy to win a lottery. Often this type of lottery scam is pulled off in connivance with a lottery firm employee – the old “inside job” method.

There is a scam known as advance fee fraud scams which typically appear on the internet and involve lotteries. The method used here is to send our emails congratulating a person on a recent, yet fictitious lottery win. The person is then expected to hand over funds as a tax or fee in order to have the winning funds released. If they do not do this they risk forfeiture of the winnings supposedly in accordance with the rules of the lottery.

Another lottery scam is based on selling "systems" supposedly designed to help a player's chances of being able to select the winning numbers. In this case, the scam relies on people having little understanding of probability and random numbers. Selling these systems is legal, however, as they often cover themselves by saying the system cannot guarantee a win. Caveat Emptor!

The name of this site is often used in emails by Scam Artists . Be Aware and do not fall for these promises. If it sounds to good to be true - IT IS
