Nottingham couple win 45M EuroMillions prize
The winners of Tuesday’s EuroMillions lottery have come forward to claim their win. Nottinghamshire based Cassey Carrington and Matt Topham won £45 million on 7th February, just two weeks after Gareth and Catherine Bull from Mansfield won £40m.
The couple are the seventh biggest winners of the EuroMillions lottery in the UK and are due to be married this September. What makes the win so memorable is that Ms. Carrington had only set up her online lottery account last week.
The winning numbers for the 7th February EuroMillions draw were 3, 15, 17, 28, 33 and Lucky Numbers 2 and 4.
Mr Topham, a painter, and Miss Carrington, a supervisor at Iceland in Eastwood, had been working hard to save up for their wedding and the win comes at just the right time for them.
Speaking at a press conference she said “I did have a feeling I was going to win. The store where I work had won an incentive for delivering excellent sales. We had been presented with £10,000 which was shared between staff. After that I just felt like it was my lucky day and decided to get a EuroMillions ticket.”
When she went home she set up an online account with the UK National Lottery, deposited £5 and bought a EuroMillions ticket. The lucky winner has only played the lottery half a dozen times in the past.
When asked about their plans to spend the EuroMillions jackpot, the couple said they were looking forward to helping friends and family with their winnings. In addition to paying off their parents’ mortgages, the couple plan on expanding budget for their wedding.
In the meanwhile, the EuroMillions lottery has been reset and is now worth £12 million tonight. Tickets are priced at £2 per line of numbers and you can check lottery results at here at Euro Million Lottery.
