We thought that this was the big one . We had finally done it and we could scrap the old car and buy an Eco house at the very least. Well i tell you what , it was a bit of a let down to found out that we had won a grand £6.60 . I guess its for a good cause in any event.This week we have spent our winnings and topped it up and bought the same amount of tickets - after all it is for charity.

A spokesman for Camelot has said that the owner of the winning ticket has contacted them and they are in the process of verifying the claim. However, it is not known if the winner will choose to remain anonymous. “We are looking forward to welcoming the lucky ticketholder to our millionaires club which is already 2,400 strong. The windfall tops the nation’s recent run of luck with big EuroMillions winners,” said the spokesman. At the moment, it is not known if the winner was an individual or a syndicate.

The winning numbers of the EuroMillions lottery jackpot were 1, 17, 31, 43, 47 and lucky stars 2 and 3. According to the Sunday Time Rich List 2010, if the £84.4 million is won by an individual, it will make them the 789th richest person in the UK with a fortune larger than Sean Connery who is estimated to be worth £80 million and Rowan Atkinson who is worth £70 million.

There were many big winners with last week’s EuroMillions game. 14 players were able to match the five main numbers and one Lucky Star to win an amazing £242,957 each while 22 players matched five numbers to win £43,876 each.
